About the event

$70 registration fee

Each summer, Friends of Northern Lake Champlain hosts Bike for the Lake, a clean water fundraiser for cycling and e-bike enthusiasts. Incredibly, this is our fourteenth ride, and while the weather for the past two years has not been ideal, we believe we are due sunshine and mild temperatures this year. At least, we hope! This past summer's flooding was a harbinger of poor water quality in the lake for this year (and perhaps years to come) and a strong signal to us all that we must protect our lake from future weather events and man-made pollution.

This event is rain or shine. Distances include 30, 60, 80, and 100 miles. The routes span the shores of the northern lake throughout the islands in Vermont and the coast of New York. Event registration starts at 7 AM and closes at 10 AM. Riders may begin at a time appropriate for their distance, keeping in mind that lunch will be served between 11:30 and 4:30 PM. This is not a timed event. Your registration includes your choice of swag, either an insulated water bottle or athletic socks, as well as a catered lunch and complimentary beer.

Got Questions? Drop us an email at fnlcbikes@gmail.com and we'll do our best to help you out.

BONUS: If you raise $250, we will refund your registration fee. While fundraising is not required, we do encourage you to give it a try. Ask your friends to support you by using your social networks on Facebook or by sending out a few email requests to family, friends, and colleagues. It's all easily accomplished on the platform. Last year, we raised $31,000 through sponsorships and registrations, and this year, we are hoping to raise $35,000.
