Tyler Place Dinner & Fundraiser
May 21, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm$35.00
In the past, Friends of Northern Lake Champlain has kicked off the spring season with our most significant fundraising events before heading into our summer construction season. Each year, these events bring in approximately $40,000 to conduct water quality improvement projects and manage operations.
This year, to demonstrate our social responsibility and to preserve the health and life of our community, some events will be canceled. We are very disappointed that we will not be able to meet with you in our accustomed manner. The Board and Staff are committed to the work of FNLC; however, we agree that this a prudent decision.
We are going to cancel one of our major fundraising and educational events, The Tyler Place Dinner & Fundraiser. It is the intention of the organization to bring the event back in 2021. Tickets previously purchased will be refunded by March 27th; it may take up to 14 days to receive your refund. If you wish to donate those dollars to FNLC, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to advise, and we will not process your refund.
Our boots-on-the-grounds operations continue where they can; for example, our Project Coordinator is continuing work on project implementation development for the summer. We continue to work with municipalities and other partners to ensure that we can maintain activities that are consistent with the CDC-issued guidelines.
Therefore, our organization has elected to refrain from working on projects where we would have contact with individuals for the foreseeable future. These projects will resume when it is safe and appropriate to do so.
We realize the COVID-19 pandemic is negatively impacting businesses and individuals, and we expect that FNLC will experience the same. This spring, as you evaluate and prioritize your situation, we ask you to give some consideration to Friends. Your contributions allow us to continue to reduce phosphorus run-off and provide education and outreach to the community for a clean lake.
One of the ways you can help FNLC most is by becoming a subscribing member. When FNLC can point to a robust and involved membership, it translates into cleaner water, community improvement, and, ultimately, our ability to deliver results. FNLC has been a leader for over 17 years, and we are hopeful that we will continue to be a strong voice. Since FNLC will not be raising money at fundraisers like the Tyler Place Dinner & Fundraiser, would you consider helping our organization stay afloat by becoming a new subscribing member? Subscriptions start as little as $5.00/month, please give what you can afford. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time.
Dr. Kent Henderson, Board Chair continues to engage with water quality professionals, and lead the organization during this difficult situation, you may reach out to him with additional questions and comments at email@example.com.
