About the event
Due to weather conditions, this event has been rescheduled to Sunday, July 14th.
Join Friends of Northern Lake Champlain and Northwest Regional Planning Commission for a day of stream cleanups in Saint Albans.
We'll begin at 9:00 with the Grice Brook in Greenwood Cemetery until 11:45, and then head over to the Stevens Brook at Houghton Park from 12:00 to 1:00.
Parking: For Greenwood Cemetery, we will be parking close to the site of the stream cleanup. When you come through the cemetery entrance, stay to the right and make your way to the back of the property where we will park on the grass. For Houghton Park, parking is on Elm Street and the brook is on the other side of the park.
Our efforts will be focused on the Grice Brook as it flows through the cemetery property, so in areas where the brook goes through or abuts residential property, we will need to be mindful so that we are not trespassing. Also, some areas near the brook are steep, so please use caution at all times. We will be at this location from 9:00 am until approximately 11:45 am, but you are welcome to leave at any time. All garbage collected will be left at the end of Lincoln Ave. for Public Works to pick up the following day.
If you are joining us for the Stevens Brook cleanup at Houghton Park, we will be meeting there at 12:00 pm and working until 1:00 pm. Â All trash collected will be left near the parking area for Public Works to pick up the following day.
