The Friends of Northern Lake Champlain will co-host a gathering with the UVM Extension Soil Health Team and the Farmer's Watershed Alliance. We'll be sharing results from water quality monitoring along the Rock River tributaries and updating folks about financial opportunities for Vermont farms.

About the event

Join UVM Extension, Farmer’s Watershed Alliance (FWA), and Friends of Northern Lake Champlain (FNLC) to learn about current programs, research, and other water quality related projects. Topic highlights include: Updates on precision sustainable agriculture, Discovery Acres, Rock River Sub Watershed Assessment, and other water quality monitoring program. We will also hear program updates from state and federal agencies including USDA NRCS, ANR, VAAFM, and FSA.Free Event.

9:45 a.m. Arrive at the American Legion 

10:00 a.m. Welcome 

10:15 a.m. Rock River Sub Watershed Assessment, 2023 Phosphorus loading  results  

10:35 a.m. FWA project updates 

11:00 a.m. Updates from State and Federal Agencies including Julie Moore,  Secretary of ANR and John Roberts, State Executive Director of the USDA FSA  

12:00 p.m. Free Lunch, catered by The Clean Spoon 

1:00 p.m. UVM updates including Discovery Acres, Precision Ag, and Soil  Health Research. Water Quality and 

Custom Applicator credit hours will be available.
