Caroline Foley joins the Friends of Northern Lake Champlain team!
Friends of Northern Lake Champlain has recently welcomed Caroline Foley as a project coordinator to help implement clean water projects in the upper Lake Champlain Basin. Growing up in coastal Virginia, Caroline has always had a passion for aquatic ecosystems and learning more about how communities engage with the landscape around them. She is excited to bring that passion into her role with the Friends.
Caroline attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where graduated in 2021 with a degree in Ecology and Anthropology. She most recently worked for the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation as the Lake Wise program’s seasonal assistant for Lake Champlain, where she gained a greater understanding of Vermont’s clean water efforts and participated in FNLC’s 2023 Shoreline Socials.
Outside of work, Caroline enjoys getting outside in both the sun and snow with her partner and two dogs. She also has open water and wreck diving SCUBA certifications, which have allowed her to spend time exploring Lake Champlain and its shipwrecks from a unique underwater perspective. She is excited to get started with FNLC and connect with other watershed groups, communities, and individuals who are involved in water quality work around Vermont.
